sI'm almost finish with the modelling of the water gins.
I'd had to fix up the 3D Texturing on GIMP 2.7 Beta to fix up the texture.

I got a few little parts to finish on before these will roll out from thwe HENTY workshops.
:D

Plus, I got a revealing secret suprise for this.
L1186 and L1174 aren't the only ones gonna be released.

I'm also gonna add the SWT water gins to it with a cabin.
Image

Gonna be doing more few texture liveries for it.
Hopefully this is gonna be a good release. :)

Thanks Matt. :D
Got some more parts to put onto them. After that's all done, I'll pass on the files to Russell on here and see what he can do to configure it into realistic config. :D

This one has Double Couplings (as I'd configured it on the ENG file)
However I dunno what the Brake Physics or how many Tons it weighs. Hopefully That can be configured.

I'm more happy to e-mail the ENG files for this to be configured before I release it. ;)
That's OK, I'm placing a Christmas order of 3 to 4 Railway books for my future info when I do some more rollingstock.

I'm no expert on these wagons, but did any of these ever run with 2CM bogies ?

G'day Steve.

I'm not quite sure if they did or not. I'll probably have to make inquiries about that.
However, I'll tinker around to fix the bogies up. The ones I'd modelled looks crummy, not that I want to admit it. :|

But thanks for your Question.

Josh,

I'm fairly certain these wagons had the standard type freight bogie. The 2CM's were fitted to some container flats, a couple of series of louvres, some grain, and the NODY/NOCY type opens from memory.

I can't find my copy of the freight wagons of NSW book at the moment though to check the water gins.

Steve

EDIT: I just had a quick hunt, these 2 links may be of use to you if you hadn't already seen them.

Steve.
I've got the NSW NODY wagons for MSTS. I had a look, The texture I'd use the bogies for my watergins are the same as the ones on the NODY. I'll be having a look on TSModeler and have a better look, I'm gonna fix up that, Plus fix up the wheels.
The wheels on mine are a bit too small. I'll have to redo that. And other parts.

Thanks for the links for reference. :D

Looks excellent Josh, :)

If only I had TA's 3801 or 3642 to couple it up too.

Ah well I'm sure it will look good behind the Scotsman on the Coal road

Thank you heaps, people. Fully appreciate it alot.
Speaking of bogies,

Steve,
I had a look at some photos online, and your ones just now. Yes, all the SWT and L Type Watergins did Have 2CM bogies.
That's something I'll try and model for MSTS.

The passenger carriage bogies I like to know. Does anyone know what ype of bogies the MFS and MBR Cars have on those carriages?

Josh, I'll zip home at lunch and grab the team-ALCO reference copy of the NSW coaching stock book. It's the duck's guts! Has everything you'd need to know.

Cheers,
Matt

Ah, excellent work Josh! :o
I had seen these in your signature with 3830 and 01 and wondered about the models.
Always great to see more rolling stock. It's good to have a balance of new locomotives and rolling stock.
A question, is it a possibility for the water gin with the cabin to have a 'passenger view'?

Once again, great work Josh!

Cheers,

Thanks for that Question, Matt.
However, I could do that, The down side of it though, probably won't turn out good. :|
Cause the Passenger Cabview probably wouldn't be small enough to passenger view completely inside.

On a humourous side, The furnishing would be too wet and boggy to put a seat in it, You don't want to book a ticket to ride on a train having to have a compartment that has a pump motor and being wet inside from the water now would you? :P

Very true Josh!
Still, great models!
These will run well with my TA 38's and even running a SMR 10 class locomotives, either 10 or 18, around the New South Wales routes.

Thanks,

Steve,
I was trying to look online on Google for some good pics of the 2CM Bogies.
It doesn't show full sided pics of it. only in angels. If I did have good ones with full-on sideview it would be brilliant.

I may have mis understood. I got the impression you found some shots online of the L water gins fitted with 2CM's, so I was just after a link to those shots.

I should pay more attention at work! I've spent a few days helping with bogie and wheelset changes at work (to get an idea of how it all works) but I didn't take notice of the bogie types. I'm talking about the three-piece bogies with five springs in each spring nest in the bolster. The ones I'm talking about run plain bearings and can be found under CFCA CGDY or PN VQCY wagons. It is fascinating to learn how the bogie and all of its components work.

Cheers,
Matt

Matt Austin.

The second link was more of a good help.
I've had a look at the bogies from that site and looked at a low quality pic of rtm's SWT 5 And SWT 6 Watergins by an angle shot.

It shows that 2CF-L bogies is exactly the same that's on the SWT gins.
Well, by all meanings, I'll use the 2CF-L Bogies since It's extremely close as identicle thats used on the Gins.

Thanks for that people. :D

I've just been digging through some old photos. Just happened to find a old photo that should help with my project.
Here's the real photo I'd took when i went to Cootamundra West in May 2001

Image
I reckon it was a good thing I'd cleaned up my room and happen to find this old picture. :P

The bogies I saw on this photo is defenantly the 2CF Bogies.
Since I know I've found this photo, I'll get it finish for sure.
