Im having a problem installing. I place all 3 route files into a temp file. Unzip normaly, but when i copy the route over to trains sim routes folder, it seems to only copy the main Sydney tramways folder with the 3rd party readme folder inside. and thats it. Even though when i unzip it seems all normal with regular files inside. But whe try to move it, Pretty much all the files dissapear. |

To Brian, May I say that I'm greatly enjoying your tramways route. As I often travel over the Harbour Bridge to get to Macquarie University it's great to see part of the bridge and the tram run along it included in MSTS. Just a couple of quick questions Was the North Sydney System connected to the Manly system via a tram punt at the Spit? Also I thought I heard that the North Sydney system was connected to the rail network somewhere on the Main North line and that trams were transferred to the main system via the rail network until the lizard was created. Is that the case. Anyway, keep up the excellent work. |

Did you make sure you had the .EXE file and the .D01 and .D02 file in the same directory when running the Installer? If it isn't, then that's probably why It won't install, You have to make sure the .D01 and .D02 file is in the same folder as the .EXE Another thing too, the Folder also has a file called InstallMe.bat, open that to install more shape and textures if that's the case |

Also I thought I heard that the North Sydney system was connected to the rail network somewhere on the Main North line and that trams were transferred to the main system via the rail network until the lizard was created. Is that the case................ The Manly system was an isolated self-contained system - most repairs were done at the North Many Depot - but when repairs could not be undertaken locally, originally trams were carried across the harbour by barge to Manly, but when the North Sydney lines opened to The Spit, the trams were towed to the north side of The Spit and transferred to the south side by a special tramcar punt. The Manly system closed in 1939, and the tram punt facilities at The Spit were removed. The North Sydney system was connected in 1903 to the NSWGR lines at St Leonards (through the goods yard) - originally trams were 'railed' from Botany Road sidings (near Regent Street station) via Strathfield and Hornsby. When the Ryde line opened to West Ryde in 1912, trams were altered to run over the Ryde line to West Ryde, then over the NSWGR via Hornsby - this removed the congestion over the Sydney - Strathfield NSWGR lines. Because of the shallow flanges on the trams, derailments were fairly common, and during the 20's to the early 30's NSWGR pressured the Tramways Department to find an alternative. In 1937 the special trailer 'The Lizard' was built and the connections to the NSWGR lines were removed. All trams were now transferred between the North System system and the main Sydney system by the trailer, until final closure in 1958. When the system closed, all trams were driven, one by one by Class, to North Sydney outside the Courthouse, loaded on The Lizard and removed to Randwick Workshops for use on the other remaining parts of the main Tramways systems. Trams were transferred by Class, with the R1 and R classes going first, then all the O class, and finally the service stock - the last tram was removed on 8th August 1958. Then it was 'all over, red rover'. Regards, Brian |

It's been more than fifty years since I last rode on a tram from the Athol Bay wharf to Taronga zoo. You've done a fantastic job re-creating that era. You've even included the tram (one of two) that ended up in the harbour. The only thing missing is the smell of burning brakes!!! Would love to have been able to do a run from Wynyard station, hope that will be possible in a future version. Have also run tram 1 activity (thank you "Flattie T"). The activity worked well though the coupled rclass trams passing by look a bit odd. Braking the Rclass was a bit tricky at the best of times let alone driving down hill! Thanks for this great route.
