That's true, but the drawings themselves are not really detailed enough for model building. They give some dimensional figures, but they are not drawn to scale. For example, the boiler sizes, cab sizes and tender sizes as drawn don't match up with the figures.
They were never meant as plans, they were just layout drawings.

I agree Jolly Green.
Many a time I have used those plans only to realize Whoops that's right out.
They can be good for a general shape then you have to get better measurements and tweak the shape later.
As Chrome Bullet has pointed out to me Photos dont lie.
Get lots of Photos and use a wheel for example that has a known Diameter as a scale reference for tweaking later.
