I hope that both versions A2 Class could be produced for MSTS. The A2s were the very backbone of the VR express passenger fleet and much of the fast goods service. Regards Mark
Hi Mark, Totally agree. I am about to release the SAR S class which were the SAR 6'6" drivered speedsters and to arrive in Serviceton on the Overland behind a pair of them and find a pair of A2's waiting would be brilliant. I have adapted one of the Adelaide route Activities to make an Overland Activity Tailem Bend to Serviceton "back then". Cheers Allan

Hi Allan, Glad to see there are other A2 Class fans out there. The SAR S Class sounds very interesting can't wait to see it. Regards Mark
Hi JGS, Are you thinking about finishing it, or do you intend finishing it, or would you like someone to finish it, or will it sit in memory, or .... ?? ....?? I'll send you a pic of double headed S class on the Overland at Tailem Bend in the early morning sun to jog/prompt/encourage/intimidate your thought processes in order to attempt to achieve a meet at Serviceton of these beautiful SAR/VR locomotives, heh, heh, heh, heh. Cheers. Allan PS Have got Polymaster and have read it. Have not yet applied principles. Must get 'round tuit - have needed a round tuit for years - actually I have a funny feeling that I had started to make one, but I never finished it ...?

Watch this space.
I won't give a timeframe at the moment due to other projects on the go (you'll have to wait and see what they are - no clues!), but I'd say you'll have an A2 sometime in 2010. There should be examples of each configuration the A2 ran in, as well as a couple of one-offs to make things interesting.
More details closer to release.

Ooooooooh, don't you just love those gentle, little, sledge hammer hints of good things to come. If they are as good as your current offerings, CB, I am really looking forward to them. With the SAR S class and 600's due for release, Serviceton will take on a new look - add some R's and D3's and loco will be worth a pic or two. Maybe I need to revisit the Adelaide route and push it a bit further to Horsham or somewhere - dunno. Cheers Allan

The A2's are a must for MSTS. Anyone who is prepared to spend the time to make one has got my full support. Question, What type of A2's are on the plans, Stephenson valve gear or Walschaerts valve?
Good Luck on the completion on such a iconic VR steam locomotive, Matt Oaten

I've completed the rudimentry shapes of a Walshearts A2 pre MFE, circa 1922.
Once I get photoshop on this computer again, I will be a able to resume work on the A2, plus the other "surprise" projects I have been working on (two of which are getting very close to completion. I hope to finish them for release just before Christmas).
Hopefully I will obtain photoshop soon and can post a screenshot of the A2.
