Requesting assistance for a computer problem. If you have a problem develop on your computer and it involves MSTS, you are very welcome to seek assistance to resolve it. Please read and understand the following guidelines. 1. We cannot see your computer and therefore we do not know what has happened, which applications are involved, what you did just before the error/s occurred, and in the absence of having a Crystal Ball to determine the problem and the answer, we need you to give as much detail as you can, about what you were doing, whether the problem occurs across all routes or a single route, the rolling stock involved, whether the Activity/Consist came with the route or you have created it - and so on. 2. It is pointless saying “My MSTS program doesn’t work after I installed xxx program”, or “My MSTS program no longer works”. These are the same as saying “My car wouldn’t start this morning – can you tell me what’s wrong?” 3. If there are error messages, we need to know the full error message, when it/they occur, and what you have done following the incident/s. 4. Have you searched the various forums (TrainSim.com or UKTrainSim) for another similar incident and understand what they did to resolve it. 5. Have you searched the Steam4me tutorials and “Error message” listing to see if your error or problem and the solution to it is listed there?
Requesting information for models/routes. 1. Have you searched the Steam4Me site? 2. Have you searched the TrainSim.com site? 3. Have you searched this site? Please do these searches before you post a thread in the expectation that other people will do the search for you – i.e. dead lazy!
Guidelines for posting 1. Texting and SMS speak is actively discouraged. Meaningless posts will be edited and/or deleted. 2. When posting, ensure that your comments remain within the scope of the topic/subject. 3. Inappropriate comments will be edited/deleted. 4. All comments should add further information to the topic/subject. If your comment does not do this, then delete it. 5. If a User asks a question, do not reply and tell them you do not know the answer.
Users who continue to abuse Forum Rules will first be warned and then banned for month. A user who has a ban in place, and who initiates a new membership to circumnavigate a ban, will be banned permanently.
