Hey guys, I am thinking of buying a TA product. But i cant decide which to get. :? I'll either get the NSWGR 38 class package or the VR H & X class package.
What I was wondering, who has both these models? Which is better? And if possible could you send me a video of the loco's in action eg. whistle, cab ect. Its a big ask but if you could help me it would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

The first Pack I bought was the 38 Class Loco pack.
Looked awesome, then I bought the 36 Class pack (For some reason I can't find it anywhere after the big move)

My money is going towards next week getting the Modern Freight Pack.
and The Special one i got my eye on the prize on when it's release. The Spirit Pack. :D

If you got mostly the NSW routes on your PC, Get the 38 Class pack.
Unless you mostly got the Victorian Route, then get the VR H and X class pack.

Or both at the same time, Whatever takes you down the railway line.
Hope that helps mate.

Matt I agree with Josh. It really depends whether you run NSW or VR. Both are great packs. I bought the X & H pack initially, and love it, but then I have a soft spot for VR steam. With the two different locos it offers more flexibility, I think, than the 38 pack in terms of the variety of consists you can put together and run. I had the older 38 from the Steam4Me site for a long time and did some altering with the cab whistle for my own running. That was fine for me, but must admit the TA 38 pack is a great set of models and replacement for the older Steam4Me model. There are no other replacements out there, that I know of, for the X & H however. The D3, D4 & DDE are the only freeware VR steam locos that I know of. As I said, both the 38 and X & H are excellent models, but the X & H pack does give you a choice of two completely different locos as oppossed to the 38 being esentially one type of loco with many variations (appologies to the NSWGR purists!). I know...decisions, decisions.... Hope this helps

Cheers, Peter

There is also the VR V class steamers on this site which are freeware, not to mention the Old A's. These models in paticular are great value for freeware. Those are two more that I can think of off the top of my head without searching.

I also purchased the X-H pack a few years back, good value. There are a few rivet counter points I picked up on but nothing major. For example, the X classes numberboards on the headlights have the class letter aswell as number, so its "X36". In reality it should just be "36."

As far as a model goes though its damn good.

I think he'll find it to be nonexistent, because it was pulled following the ridiculous copyright debacle.

Sorry about this, but being a newbie on here I'm not upto date with all the copyright fiasco.

Why is that the modelling train world Lima, Austrains, Trainorama and the like seem to be able to produce anything they like for a price. Yet us humble MSTS users are apparently limited in what we can use, and most of us just want to share among friends? Seems to be a storm in a teacup to me. Hope this doesnt open a can of worms

Today I considered all of your guys opinions and decided to buy the H & X class locomotive pack from TA.

The loco's are great and the rollingstock just as good! :D
I might send some screenies later on or either in future Screenie Contests? Russel.

Cheers,
Matt Oaten

G'day Guys,
Today I bought the N & 750 class pack. It adds to my collection of 'purchased' team alco products such as the H & X class.
I love the whistle in this pack and the cabview is great aswell!

Cheers,
