Hi all,

I am currently having problems with texturing a model, The problem is when I go to add logos and smaller details they all come out blurred and unreadable in MSTS. The only way I have got around this in the past is making separate parts for logos etc but this can often distort the smooth lines of the model because you have this extra part just over the outside edge. Any tried and true methods you guys have used to get around this?.
I use TSM and Paint shop Pro 6 for modeling.

All the best,

Jason.

Jason,

The quickest and easiest way is to increase the texture size. All of my models now use 1024x1024 and if the photos I use for the textures have a high resolution (2000+ pixels wide) the body of the model is split in half and textured accordingly from a single 1024 texture. This is the texture for one of my cattle wagons which will help explain what I am talking about :)

Top section is for the left side of the body, bottom section is for the right side of the body. Of course this wont work for all models but for most it would be the best way to go. I'm planning to use 2048x2048 textures for my next projects; the results are super sharp textures with no noticeable performance hit.

Cheers,
David.
