I do happen find it hard to see superheatedsteam as I wear glasses, I think I have to make an appointment with my eye speciallist...

I'm not going to give up on route building as it's great fun to do but because MSTS 1 is getting older and MSTS 2 is comming I will build my route for MSTS 2 :D

Hi Russell, I will merge both of your routes now and post a picture here
and then we talk about joinning the tracks

Regards Phil

I am making some sort of progress with joinning your routes together Russ. It may take awhile as I have to keep selecting and rasing the terrain to the Roads & Track. There is abit of a problem with the Dynamic track when I select it and rase the terrain and unselect it it dosen't mach up with any track that it was attached too, I leave this for now and fix it up after I have selected all tracks & Roads

Here is the progress picture in activity editor of the map. Anyway let us know what you think mate

Regards Phil

Interesting thread, but I agree with the Jollygreenslug; the disadvantages of having a huge route that includes a large urban area outweigh the advantages, particularly if you haven't got the latest computer to run MSTS on. In reality, one driver wouldn't take a train across the Sydney or Melbourne urban areas nonstop (I think, but some others here may be able to correct me) so as far as replicating real life operations I can't see any advantages. Personally, 1 hour at a time's enough for me on MSTS, so bring a train into Enfield or Sydney Terminal on CTN, then continue next time on Illawarra is fine.
