Hi,
I'll try this again. Could somebody explain why after downloading the finescale track and the required platforms I get a 'Failed to load track data base' message when trying to start the Victorian North-East Line sim.
Regards
Mark

Hi Mark,

I honetly never had this problem with this route but what I can do is try to help you fix the problem.

After downloading the route and installing it as well as the required files you might need to click on the "Installme" again or install finescale to a folder to your desktop and copy the files to the routes & global folders, I hope that this might work I tried this on another route and it seems to work OK, or just go to Yuri's site for afew tutorials to fix up the error "failed to load track data base"...

Regards Phil

Hi Phil,
Thanks very much for your reply. I'll try it. I had the same problem with the Main Line route.

Hi Mark,
You should have a install file UKTS_11889_ukfs_v3.1.6_full.
Run this installer and it will put S and SD files in your global/ shapes folder.
Unzip UKTS_1211_PlatformKitIV.zip and place the S and SD files in your global/ shapes folder.
The Ace file ashphaltplatcurve.ace goes in your global/texture folder.

I am sure this is the way I installed these files .

Cheers Geoff

This sounds like a X tracks new roads or global trk section.dat thing.
1) Download the UK finescale as listed from UKtrainsim and install.
Right download from Steam4me and install in this order.
2) Newroads
3) Xtracks
make sure you install in this order as The Xtracks has the later global trk dat file.

To Phil and Mr. Driver,
I did what you suggested and now the route shows up in the sim but when I click on the route a frozen, immoveable hand appears where I have clicked and the familiar "Microsoft Train Simulator has encountered a problem" Then the whole sim crashes.

Mark

Have you tried checking the route using Route-Riter? That might tell you what the problem is?

Hi ozace50
I found the problem. I didn't click on the insatall button in the route folder.
Thanks for your suggestion.

Hi,
Does the problem occur with all routes, some routes or just one route. The answer to that question will determine what your next step is in solving the riddle.
Cheers

Hi Mark,

Sorry about th ate reply mate, I was going to ask you have you made a backup of this route? if so try installing it again, and if it's not too much to ask how much ram do you have on your computer?

Hi all
My computer is fairly good. It can handle all the routes well except when there is a very populated area.
I've tried the North-East line and it now works well.
