What are the correct hierarchies for a 4 wheel wagon?
I know with a Loco it is:
Bogie1
Wheel11
Wheel12
Bogie 2
Wheel21
Wheel22
with bogies as wheel parents.

Not sure how it works for 4 wheelers though.

In TSM For 4 wheelers use part names Wheels 11 and 12 and upwards DO NOT USE 1,2,3,4 They are for locos with animations like steam locos.
Parent the wheels to MAIN.

Thanks for that, Russell.
I forgot to set the last animation frame in TSM when I exported it.
All good now.

You should also use the bogie part with 4 wheelers.
This centres the wheels to the rail.

BY default TSM centres the wheels to the end of the wagon.

I make the axleguards as bogies and parent the wheels, axlebox. springs and brakeshoes to them

The effect is not so noticable on main lines but will show up on tight curves with long wheelbase wagons.

The centre wagon has no bogies. Compare it with the wagons either side which do have.

Thanks for taking the time to demonstrate that, Ian. You can certainly notice the difference.
I will adjust my model shortly.

Cheers,

Hi,
What do you have to do after you name wheels and boogies and associate them to a parent to make the animation work?

open project properties dialog click loco carriage or freight and enter 9 in the animation frames box.
