You can, but they wont have animated wheels or bogies. Some people use Sketchup to build and texture the model, then use Gmax to add the animations and create the .s file

If you’re going to use gmax I would suggest you to complete the gmax Small Loco Tutorial.

The Elvas Tower web site has an updated version here:

http://www.elvastower.com/forums/index. ... =0&start=0

Note you will have to sign up to the forums in order to read and download the tutorial.

railfan,
We do not have a crystal ball, we cannot see your computer, we cannot see/hear what went wrong or the order in which the whateveritwasthatwentwrong went wrong. So how do you expect us to advise you - magically jump into your computer chair?
If you want a reply that may assist in resolving your problem, you better spell out sufficient details to allow us to understand the situation.
Cheers

Hi Billsy5711,
I wonder then whether you would kindly advise railfan44 how to resolve the problem based on the information supplied.
Looking forward to your reply.
Cheers

I have read Sarfan39’s post a number of times and I can’t see where he has been rude?

Sarfan39 is perfectly correct to ask for additional information and is clearly indicating why.

If I post a question on this or any other forum I always provide as much information as possible for two reasons.

Firstly and most importantly, I am asking some MSTS content creator to go out of their way to reply to my post. That’s irreplaceable leisure time they are giving me and I respect that.

Secondly, if anybody else on the Internet has a similar problem it would most likely assist them if they found it via a search engine. I find most solutions to MSTS problems by searching.

Did you download the tutorial from the link I posted previously, and install gmax and the MSTS game pack exactly as the tutorial demonstrates?

Billsy I will make this clear in front of everyone.
Keep it up and you will soon be missing from this forum!
I will not have anyone questioning the judgment of my Admins or Mods.

Alan was stating a point and not being rude. As a matter of fact you couldn't find a more helpful person who will go out of his way to ferret out the solution to a problem in a most analytical manner.
MMMMM MSTS just stuffed up, well that could be for a number reasons.
User Incompetence? probably, Overwritten directories? Maybe, Gee How the heck would we know.
Now if the message said MSTS Crashes and gives error messages XYZ on start up or doesn't show trains ect in the consist list after installing Gmax we would have something to start with.

Billsy,What makes you think Alan is being smart?
He was only making a true fact comment and giving out helpful advise to a loyal member who was asking for help. The comment he'd said to railfan was if he could type sufficient details, allowing the experts on here to understand the situation the easy way, (Explaining by every details is something that will help and guide things very easily)

How Is Alan's explaining the situation way rude? Seriously, mate. This isn't the place to be for insults or bad sportsmanship commenting. I fully undertsand you want the mods to be nicer, But resolving it by calling them rude and saying to them that they are being a No.2 end smart doesn't solve the problem, Old saying goes, "two wrongs don't make a right."

My biggest question I like to know from you, is.
Did you made sure you did read the forum's rules "properly" before you'd joined?
