These wooden "I" wagons with loads will add some diversity to the Northern main.

Was it common for the Victorian railways to always paint their rollingstock red in the early 20th century? I'm seeing a pattern emerging with much of the older stuff that's being rolled out 8)

That wool or grain wagons or both? Some of them were stacked higher than shown; I've got a picture somewhere of one loaded. Also, check your email and I'll send one with Mallee roots; would have been a very common traffic post 1910 with the Mallee being opened up, being dropped off in intermediate sidings. The ones with coal also being delivered to a Coal Stage...

Good to see some wooden I wagons; some would also have been classified IB.

I have been looking for a suitable pile of mallee roots to get a decent photo for some time to use as a load.
The loads shown are Wool, Hay, coal, MT and firewood.
I have been playing with a tarp to represent a load with bagged grain.
Notch I would love some suitable pics of loaded I wagons.
Were the IB just a renamed I? If so Why did they change the code?

I think we need a Pintsch gas wagon, a couple of before 1900 bogie flats (Pics needed for the bogie flats, I have the plans).
Any suggestions for wagons.

To be complete:

An O hopper wagon.
Q flatcars you can get decent side-on shots from existing examples (one is still in use off-register at Dynon)
Early L sheep wagons
R and QR open wagons
Tommy Bents
G flatwagons used for carting carriages and buggies for passengers.

Aside from those, that's it.

The Mallee roots* I haven't scanned. I have though a wooden I with ridge gear. That I'll send.

*Little bit rude, but an old joke I heard once was:

"What do you call it when the Mildura Marching Girls' Band comes to town?

A train of Mallee roots..."

Scratch that. Found the picture of Mallee roots. In a steel I wagon which should make no difference.

I have to rule out the O wagons and tommy Bents as they are TA payware and I will only build freeware RS that will not conflict with future or present payware projects, thus the before or just around 1900 era models that I am building.
