I am unable to get the Southern Highlands to install . It gets to about 70% when I get the following message : "textures\summer\bluebells.ace ..file corrupt or unreadable " All the required files have been installed several times , Ive tried the \bluebells.ace file from UK trainsim. Thank you Habyski

Thank you for your reply Russ. I followed the instructions to the letter & downloaded the route twice & opened the files with Winzip to another folder : ie newfolder. I'll have another try tomorrow , I might pick where I went wrong.
I use winrar.
What I did was to right click on AU NSW Southern Highlands 1.zip and selected extract to AU NSW Southern Highlands 1.
Then selected extract to AU NSW Southern Highlands 2 for the second file .
Then after reading the readme file moved AU NSW Southern highlands.D01 to the folder that AU NSW Southern highlands.exe was in.
Ran the AU NSW Southern highlands.exe and the route installed with no problems.
Some times I find when I download large files without using a download accelerator ,I use getright normally that the download finishes before the whole file is downloaded.
Make sure the downloaded file is the correct file size!

The install worked fine for me once I actually read the readme and downloaded the required trainsets.
Loaded the route up in the RE and had a good look at it. Pleasant ever changing scenery without mile after mile of the same thing. Seems very stable, and lots of scope for activities. A nice addition to the current selection of routes to drive on.
Try clearing out the Temporary Internet Files and download both files again.
There is a very remote possibility that the file is being mangled during the download process.
Also ensure your anti virus / internet security / 3rd party application software is disabled during the install process. These programs can also ‘interfere’ with installations if they dont like the look of a file. I would suggest using start->run->msconfig and untick all the ticked boxes (after making a note of which ones are ticked so you can re-enable them after installing the route) and reboot the pc prior to trying to install again.

Hi habyski,
I was having exactly the same problem as you and after three attempted installs went searching other routes for "bluebells ". Found them and deleted all files relating to them ( ace. s. sd. ). Installed perfectly. Hope this helps.
Regards
Rick

Thank you to those that have replied , Iico1 , could you please provide a little more detail of your solution :ie where did you obtain the " bluebells " file from & what file did you delete the .s & .sd files. Thank you

HI Habyski.
It was obvious that there was a corrupt "bluebells" file somewhere in my routes folder so I opened the texture files of each route, located the "bluebells" file and simply deleted it along with the shape files. I don't know if this is the correct proceedure but it worked for me.
Regards Rick

I have just searched my routes folder for all references to bell and there are none in any of the 6 default routes. This means the error you are getting must be occurring when the route files are being extracted. This is confirmed by the install.bat not having any reference to bell* in it either.
The only other routes in my pc (apart from my own) are the 2 recent releases, Southern Highlands and SydneyTrams. The Southern Highlands route only has the bluebells.ace texture installed but no shape files. There were no errors during my installation and as there is no REF file to check I can only assume that the bluebells shapes are not used in Southern Highlands. Chris would have to confirm.
I did find the bluebells shape, SD and ACE files in the Sydney Trams route. If Rick has deleted the bluebell files from any other routes this will cause MSTS to popup with missing shape error messages when driving into (or close to) tiles that have these objects installed.
I fail to see how deleting the bluebell files from another route would in any way resolve an extraction problem as MSTS routes are (in the most part) self contained files within their own route folders and do not share shape files or textures (road and tracks excepted).
Habyski, I would suggest that if you do follow Ricks advise that after deleting the files and successfully installing the Southern Highlands route that you go into the recycle bin and restore the deleted bluebell files or you may find yourself reinstalling these routes in the future.
Please report back and advise if deleting the files resolves the installation errors.

Looking at my copy of the Highlands I can honestly say that "bluebells" doesn't ring a bell, blue or otherwise. Not sure where this one is coming from.
I'd say that if anyone is having a problem with installing, delete the old copy, re-open the zip files, drag the two installer files to the desktop (or a designated folder, whatever you want), and then run the installer from there. It seems that the consensus is that this works, providing your copy of the download didn't mess up somewhere along the downloading process.

Ok, thats strange! I haven't got problems installing the NSW southern highlands route on my computer even though my computer is 6 years old and only has 512MB of RAM.
Only thing i can suggest is re-download the route and run the installer again.
Might not be much, but that's all i could think of.

Unless a member wants to burn you a copy it wont be released on CD.
I did find a bluebells.ace in the textures folder although it isnt used.
Strange?
This is the only known problem we have received regards this route out of 92 downloads.
It must be something with your setup OR you are doing something wrong.
Follow this procedure to the letter.
OK have another Go.
Make a folder on your desktop name it whatever you want.
Now unzip AU NSW southern Highlands 1 zip.
You will see "AU NSW Southern highlands.exe" Copy the exe file to that folder you created on the desktop.
OK unzip "AU NSW southern Highlands 2 zip"
You will see "AU NSW Southern highlands.D01" Copy the.D01 file to that folder you created on the desktop.
Ok now open that folder you created on the desktop find the .exe file and run it.
It should be all automatic from that point except you may have to run the installme.bat file as described in the readme after install.

Hey, Russell I tried your suggestion in your last post & I ended up with the same problem , however the problem has been resolved. Have a look at the topline of your last post. When I installed the route , I looked at the Textures folder & noted it a lot more files than the one(s) I had been trying to install...strange also. Iico1 , thank you for the offer .
"bluebells" only happens when the installer file # 1 "southern highlands .exe" cant find the installer file # 2 "southern highlands .D01" in the same folder/directory.
Put them in the same place and then there is no problem.
Hi,
I tried to install the Southern Highlands route and it is present in the sim but it won't run because I don't seem to have the track sections installed.
I have the latest X-tracks installed.
Regards
Mark
Hi Jeff,
I've tried twice with the route. But I might try reinstalling the track pieces. It took me a couple of goes to get the VR North-East Main to work. But now it runs well.
Regards
Mark
Hi guys I finally got around to installing this road and so far it looks good.
My question is to do with the UKTrainsim Platform kit 4. I have it ready to install but am not sure how to go about that. The read me has two versions. Do I go magnetic or the alternate non magnetic?
Do I need to do more than simply copy the files to my relevant directories?
