With the Eyre Peninsula route currently under construction, I thought I would post some plans for some of the rollingstock that has been used on the division.
CGN brakevan NOTE: When originally introduced to service, these vans were fitted with standard "Short Tom" passenger friction bearing bogies. Later on, roller bearing freight bogies were fitted c.1975 along with auto couplers replacing chopper couplers.
HAN grain hopper NOTE: When the first batch of 20 were introduced in 1969/1970, they were mounted on 1920s "archbar" style, friction bearing bogies and fitted with chopper couplers. The next couple of batches were delivered with rolling bearing bogies and auto couplers second hand off ON class wagons from the Peterborough division after standardisation in 1970. The first batch were retrofitted around the same time.
Yx open NOTE: A total of 32 Y or Yy wagons were converted to 4 wheel flat wagons directly from broad gauge and had a timber decking fitted to the standard 4 wheel underframe and were classified as Yf.

Here are a few more of SAR narrow gauge brakevans. Unlike the CGN and HAN wagons, the brakevans were used all over the SAR. The first 4 wheel brakevans were also used on the Northern Australia Railway until the Commonwealth Railways modernised everything. These are from the same source as the plans before.
5000 class
GB class
7500 class
